The 2025 Spring Week cycle has once again highlighted just how competitive the early careers landscape has become, with students continuing to apply earlier and with higher volume. Despite the intensity, Spring Weeks remain a crucial stepping stone, with 31% of participants going on to secure return offers for summer internships, and nearly a third landed a first-year summer internship.
The findings from this year’s (and first ever) Spring Week survey include some important points that every ambitious student looking to land early-careers opportunities should be aware of. For example, while Spring Weeks are often branded as “first-year only,” over a quarter of successful interns were in their second or third year, showing that perceived eligibility is wider than many assume. At the same time, performance remains uneven, with the top 10% of applicants securing a third of all offers.
